Programme on How to Choose a Major Launched

Over 500 foundation-year students congregated at a training session on how to pick a major organized by the Vice-deanship of Student Affairs for Graduates from 17-21 September 2011 at King Faisal Conference Centre.

Dr Abdullah Mohorji, Dean of Student Affairs, told the students not to rely on external factors influencing their choices, including family expectations, stressing that choosing a major should be based upon a balance between personal skills and abilities and career ambitions.

Dr Qassan Al-Siddiqi asked the students to consider the additional skills they need and to know what really engages them before deciding on a major. 

According to Dr Abdurrahman Al-Habib, Vice-dean for Graduates, the programme consists of four sessions to be held during this semester to give the students some pointers and direction about charting perfect educational paths in which they can excel.
